Silver Lake fireworks canceled.

GOLDEN TOWNSHIP — The Silver Lake fireworks, which were scheduled for Saturday July 4, are canceled due to COVID-19 gathering restrictions.

“Please note that with the closing of state park day-use areas at 10 p.m. on July 4, there would not be an area that would provide a safe location for discharging the fireworks and enable visitors to view the fireworks in a safe environment following current large gathering restrictions,” states Scott Beal, executive director of the Silver Lake Sand Dunes-Hart Visitors Bureau in a press release issued Wednesday July 1. “The 2020 Silver Lake fireworks are canceled for July 4th.”

The fireworks were canceled, then brought back on schedule, and now canceled again.

All fireworks displays in Oceana County have been canceled due to COVID-19.
