Hart man injured in crash.

WEARE TOWNSHIP — A 22-year-old Hart man was transported to Mercy Health Partners Hackley Campus in Muskegon for non-life-threatening injuries following a two-vehicle crash Wednesday, June 24, at 4:30 p.m. on Wayne Road near 64th Avenue, according to an Oceana County Sheriff’s Office accident report.

He was driving a 2015 Chrysler 200 that collided with a 2012 Ford pickup truck driven by a 33-year-old Rockford man. According to the report, the Rockford man received minor injuries and was not taken to a hospital.

The Chrysler was southbound when the driver “negotiated a curve where 64th Avenue turns into Wayne Road.” After completing the curve, he entered the oncoming lane of traffic “due to high speed and overcorrection.”

The pickup truck driver “observed (the Chrysler) oncoming in his lane of travel while headed northwest on Wayne Road.” The Chrysler driver “attempted to avoid a collision by entering the empty oncoming lane of travel” and “at the same time tried to enter the correct lane and struck (the pickup truck) on the left side in the middle of the roadway. Both units careened off the roadway in a westerly direction and came to rest on the shoulder of Wayne Road.”

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
