Woman suffers broken arm in dune rollover crash.
GOLDEN TOWNSHIP — A 26-year-old Farmington Hills woman received a compound fracture to her right arm after the 2020 Polaris RZR she was a passenger in flipped over on the Silver Lake Sand Dunes Saturday evening, June 13.
The ORV area of the Silver Lake State Park opened for the 2020 season Saturday after delays caused by COVID-19.
The driver of the RZR — a 28-year-old Farmington Hills man — “made a sharp left turn and caused the vehicle to tip on the passenger side,” states an Oceana County Sheriff’s Office accident report. “As the vehicle overturned, the passenger’s right arm was struck by the top roll bar as it collided with the ground.”
The injured woman was transported to Mercy Health Partners Hackley campus in Muskegon. There was no damage to the vehicle.
The RZR was traveling northbound shortly after 8 p.m. across the sand flats, the report states.
