Pentwater July 3 fireworks cancelled.

PENTWATER — The Pentwater Chamber of Commerce announced tonight on its Facebook page that it has cancelled the July 3 fireworks.

“Our highest priority is the health and safety of residents, visitors and members,” the post states. “The Pentwater Chamber has come to this difficult decision only after reviewing all options and consulting with the State of Michigan, DNR, Pentwater Police Department and Pentwater Fire Department. Additionally, we do not feel it is appropriate to solicit donations from businesses who are already experiencing financial strain.

“The Pentwater Chamber is turning its focus on Homecoming and to make it the best it can be. We appreciate your understanding. Please note any donations future or past donations to the Fireworks Fund will continue to be used towards fireworks in Pentwater.”
