Monroe Road to remain closed through June 19.

PENTWATER — Monroe Road/US 31 Business Route is closed for flood mitigation just northwest of Longbridge Road through June 19, according to the Michigan Department of Transportation Communications Representative John Richard.

MDOT made the announcement Thursday, June 4.

MDOT is installing a system of temporary dams and pumps to mitigate the flooding issues on Monroe Road near Long Bridge Road along Pentwater Lake.

“Lane closures will be in effect for the duration of the project, as well as full closures with detours during the underground work for pump installation. This project will minimize the water over the road and extend the service life of the roadway,” Richard stated.
