HART — A 45-year-old Hesperia man was sentenced to 18 months to 10 years in prison in 27th Circuit Court Monday, June 1, for a conviction of larceny $1,000-$20,000.

David John Mack, of 553 S. Maple Island Rd., has 20 prior felonies and six misdemeanor convictions, said Oceana County Prosecutor Joseph Bizon. Most of his prior convictions are drug-related, Bizon said.

Mack, who is currently lodged in the Newaygo County Jail on other criminal charges, appeared in court Monday via polycom teleconferencing due to COVID-19 precautions.

Mack stole several items from a shed in Newfield Township last November, including a dirt bike, bicycles and chainsaws, said Bizon.

Judge Robert D. Springstead ordered that he pay $3,200 in restitution. Mack received credit for 110 days served in jail.
