Shelby graduation July 10.

SHELBY — Shelby High School Principal Melissa Kramer announced that the Class of 2020 graduation ceremony is set for Friday, July 10, at 7 p.m. at the football stadium.
“Due to space limitations and to protect our most vulnerable community members and their families, only immediate family members can be in attendance,” Kramer said.
If large gatherings are allowed at that time, there is a “Plan B” to have the ceremony in the high school auditorium, she said, which would allow the graduates to walk across the stage and have photos taken afterwards.
The principal said that the survey results were “almost unanimous” that the students and their families wanted a graduation ceremony.
“We are very excited to have this ceremony for you,” Kramer said in a video posted on the high school’s Facebook page. “We appreciate your understanding that none of this is what we would have hoped for you. But we wanted you to have a very memorable experience.”
The district set a rain date of Saturday, July 11, at 7 p.m.
