Car overturns several times before hitting power pole.
SHELBY TOWNSHIP — A 32-year-old Shelby woman was injured following a single-vehicle crash Wednesday, May 13, at 3:30 a.m. on West Baseline Road near 104th Avenue, according to an Oceana County Sheriff’s Office accident report.
The woman was westbound on Baseline Road in a 2002 Buick LeSabre “at a high rate of speed,” states the report. She “advised she swearved to miss a deer, but it appeared the vehicle went off the road gradually. The driver lost control, and the vehicle began to spin going into the ditch and overturning several times. The vehicle also hit a power pole before coming to rest in pines.”
The woman sought treatment at an area hospital and was not transported by ambulance, according to the report.
Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the crash, and the woman was wearing a seatbelt, the report states.
