Friday Night Lights to honor Shelby grads.

SHELBY — The Shelby High School football stadium will light up at 20:20 military time (8:20 p.m.) Friday evening, May 8, in honor of the Shelby 2020 graduates.

“We are so excited to be able to participate in Friday Night Lights to honor our Class of 2020 on what would be their graduation day,” states the event details posted on Facebook. “We will turn on our football stadium lights by 8:20 p.m. and will leave them on for 20 minutes to show support of our graduates. Please know that we are following our Governor’s order and will NOT be hosting a gathering.”

“Our incredible maintenance and facilities staff has worked a minor miracle and fixed our blown transformer,” the event details state.

Community members are welcome to join a car parade through the parking lot beginning at 7:30 p.m., organizers said.
