SHELBY TOWNSHIP — A 40-year-old Grand Rapids man who faces charges of operating while intoxicated and resisting arrest was also cited by Michigan State Police troopers for violating Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s Stay Home, Stay Safe order amid the COVID-19 pandemic, said Sgt. Dan Thomas of the Hart post.

The man was arrested Sunday, April 5, shortly after 11 p.m. on northbound US 31 near M 20.

Police responded to a 911 call of a person lying in the roadway, said Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast whose deputies assisted at the scene. The suspect resisted officers’ commands following his arrest and at the Oceana County Jail, Mast said.
