Sheriff’s office lobby to close beginning Tuesday.
HART — Oceana County Sheriff’s Office is closing its lobby to the public effective Tuesday, March 17. However, Sheriff Craig Mast assures citizens that the sheriff’s office remains “fully operational” in the midst of the coronavirus crisis.
“The Oceana County Sheriff’s Office remains fully operational in the wake of the COVID-19 situation,” said Sheriff Mast. “We would like to reassure the community that the department continues to provide all essential public safety services to our residents and visitors. We are dedicated to the health and safety of all, including our personnel.
“In the event that you need law enforcement services, please call 9-1-1 and answer the necessary questions to screen your call appropriately.
“Effective 3/17/2020 the sheriff’s office lobby will be closed to the public, coinciding with other county offices and buildings. This affects the following areas:
“Inmate Visitation. All inmate visitation must be done via off-site visitation. You can do off-site visitation seven days a week from 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.. Go to www.videovisitanywhere.com and sign up for “Remote Video.”
”Inmate Kiosk. Individuals needing to make deposits into loved ones’ accounts can do so in the lobby but will need to use the phone at the door to be allowed into the building. You can also make deposits into commissary, etc by going to: www.expressaccount.com
“Fingerprints. Anyone needing fingerprinting for CPL, employment, etc will need to postpone this for a later date. If you have court-ordered fingerprints, please contact the jail to inquire.
“Inmate Services. All educational and spiritual programs will be temporarily suspended until further notice.
“Purchase permits. All purchase permit processing will be temporarily suspended. You may still choose to mail completed permits into our office by U.S. Mail.
“We will have staff here to answer phones and answer questions that you may have. The phone at the front door is available 24 hours a day.
