Shelby schools providing free meals for students.
SHELBY — With the state-wide school closure over the next three weeks due to the coronavirus outbreak, the Shelby school district will provide free meals to students.
“As there will be no school at least until the fifth of April, 2020, Shelby Public Schools has developed a plan to ensure students do not go hungry for breakfast or lunch,” states a school notification.
“The following are pick-up points where students may come, grab and go with their food. Any student from any district who can make it to the pick-up point may have food for free. In cases where you don’t have transportation, please call us and we will make sure you get food for your children. Phone: 231-861-0317.”
The following are pick-up locations and times:
– Oceana County Early Learning Center, 568 N. Oceana Dr., Hart, 10-11 a.m.
– Trinity Lutheran Church, Stony Lake Rd., New Era: 9:30-10 a.m.
– Lake Tahoe Community Center New Era, 10:10-10:40 a.m.
– Shelby Middle School, 9:30-11 a.m.
– Barnett Station, Shelby, 9:15-9:45 a.m.
– Chapita Hills, Shelby, 9:47-10:30 a.m.
– Ferry Community Center, Ferry, 9:30-10:30 a.m.
– The Ladder Community Center, Shelby: 10:45-11:30 a.m.
