Medical care facility suspends non-medical visits.

HART — In order to protect residents from the coronavirus, the Oceana County Medical Care Facility has suspended all non-medical visits, according to OCMCF Administrator Gary Davis.
There are certain exceptions to the suspension, including allowing family to visit a severely ill resident, Davis said. In those cases, visitors would be required to wear personal protective equipment.
The medical care facility is in the process of contacting families to make them aware of the situation, he said.
There are signs at the entrances, and some entrances have been closed.
“We are setting up the ability to use FaceTime and Skype,” Davis said, so residents can still interact with their loved ones.
“This is standard across the country and the state. We’re battening down the hatches to protect our residents.”
