EF ‘moving forward as planned’ amid coronavirus.

‘As each day develops we all watch, learn, and attempt to calibrate to a rapidly changing situation,’ promoters said.

ROTHBURY — The Electric Forest Festival, which attracts at least 40,000 people from across the country and other countries every year in June, is planing to go on as scheduled amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The four-day music festival is set for June 25-28 at the Double JJ Resort. Festival goers camp on the grounds during the event, and many of them arrive at the site the prior Wednesday for “early arrival” entry.

Festival promoters posted the following statement on the Electric Forest Facebook page Thursday evening, March 12:

“Greetings Forest Family,

Electric Forest 2020 is currently moving forward as planned, and will continue to work with the appropriate authorities to produce a safe and healthy festival.

As each day develops we all watch, learn, and attempt to calibrate to a rapidly changing situation. New facts emerge daily. Speculation and prediction is difficult in such a fluid environment.

At the time of this writing, Electric Forest is still over 100 days away. Safety is always the number one concern for all of us, and it will of course be planned for accordingly and ultimately determine the best course of action.

Our commitment is to keep communication high as clarity is gained. Thanks for your patience and we’ll connect with you soon.”

This year marks the 10th year of the widely-popular event. Tickets sold out in less than an hour last December.
