Shelby Rotary calls community members to action.

SHELBY — Rotary members are people of action. They identify the issues that affect communities and then work together to find the best course of action.

No project is too big or too small. Rotarians embrace new challenges every day and remain committed to finding solutions to some of the world’s most pressing issues, both globally and locally — whether it’s eradicating polio, providing clean water, awarding scholarships to students or helping to purchase new playground equipment.

Together, Rotarians make their communities better. They are your neighbors — business professionals and community leaders who represent all generations, and nearly every ethnicity and culture. Rotarians have the privilege of leaving an enduring impact on people’s lives, making them healthier, happier, and better off than they were before — and they have fun in the process.

Most recently, the Rotary Club of Shelby donated to Shelby Public Schools’ campaign to fund new playground equipment at Thomas Read Elementary. You may notice the bright new outdoor jungle gym and swing set as you drive by. Rotary members supported this project with a $5,415 donation so Shelby elementary students and neighborhood kids have a safe and fun place to play.

A formal ribbon cutting ceremony will take place this spring hosted by Shelby Public Schools.

For those who want to take action to make a difference, Shelby Rotary Club invites you to join. Check out one of the club’s meetings or events to learn more about how you can make a difference.
