Police investigate power pole hardware theft.

WALKERVILLE — The Oceana County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of guide wire anchors for power poles from a storage building located in the 100 block of South East Street, said Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast.

“We have recovered most of the property,” Mast said. Most of the property was located at a local salvage yard where someone had turned it in for scrap, he said.

The value of stolen property is $1,500, and the theft was reported Friday, Jan. 24, around 1 p.m. The sheriff’s office is waiting for the property owner to return from out of state, so he can be interviewed by police.
