HART – A 20-year-old Shelby man faces up to 20 years in prison for a felony charge of delivery/manufacture of a narcotic/cocaine 50-449 grams.

Steve Olvera, of 98 Sessions Rd., faces the charge stemming from an arrest by the State, Sheriffs Chiefs Enforcement of Narcotics Team (SSCENT), according to his court file.

Olvera appeared in 27th Circuit Court Monday, Jan. 13, with his attorney, Timothy Hayes.

Oceana County Prosecutor Joseph Bizon offered a plea deal in which Olvera’s minimum term would not exceed 20 months in prison, but he rejected the offer.

Sentencing guidelines are 24-40 months.

A trial date is being scheduled.
