Man allegedly throws gasoline on girlfriend, threatens to burn her.

SHELBY — A 31-year-old Shelby man allegedly threw gasoline on his girlfriend and threatened to burn her Sunday, Dec. 22, shortly before 6:30 a.m. in a residence on South Harvey Street.

The man faces charges of felonious assault and assaulting/resisting/obstructing police.

“We are searching for a place to lodge him in a mental health facility,” said Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast.

The suspect was lodged in the Oceana County Jail and is pending arraignment in 78th District Court.
