Man arrested for OWI after driving to sheriff’s office.

HART – A 44-year-old Montague man who drove to the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office to pick up copies of police reports on Friday the 13th was arrested for operating while intoxicated, said Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast.

Upon arrival to the sheriff’s office, Dec. 13, shortly after 4:30 p.m. he was under suspicion of drunk driving and was arrested following an investigation. He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.

The following is other police activity in Oceana County over the weekend:

Friday, Dec. 13, 2019:

– 7:35 p.m., (Oceana County Sheriff’s Office), a 43-year-old Bitely woman was arrested for driving while license suspended (DWLS), East Harrison Road, Village of Walkerville.

– 10:27 p.m., (OCSO), a 24-year-old Fremont man was arrested for no insurance, South Maple Island Road, Greenwood Township.

– 10:53 p.m., (Michigan State Police), a 40-year-old Shelby man was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident, 500 block of Harvey Street, Village of Shelby. No injuries occurred.

Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019:

– 11:26 a.m., (OCSO), a 36-year-old Shelby man was arrested for operating while intoxicated, North 144th Avenue near East VanBuren Road, Elbridge Township.

– 7 p.m., (MSP), one-vehicle crash, no injury, Garfield Road, Greenwood Township.

– 8:28 p.m., (OCSO), a 19-year-old Pentwater man was arrested for DWLS, US 31, Weare Township.

– 9:15 p.m., (MSP), one-vehicle crash, no injury, Winston Road near US 31, Grant Township.

– 11:34 p.m., (MSP), a 54-year-old Fremont man was arrested for no insurance, M 20 near 96th Avenue, Shelby Township.

Sunday, Dec. 15, 2019:

– 6:06 p.m., (OCSO), gas drive-off, $64 in fuel stolen, Wesco, South Michigan Avenue, Village of Rothbury.

Monday, Dec. 16, 2019:

– 3:40 a.m., (MSP), a 28-year-old Holland man was arrested on a fugitive warrant, 9000 block of Roosevelt Road, Greenwood Township.

– 4:01 a.m., (OCSO), a 28-year-old Shelby man was arrested for operating while under the influence drugs, second-offense DWLS and improper license plate, Garfield Road, Newfield Township.
