HART – The case against a 28-year-old Mears woman charged with operating while intoxicated causing death has been bound over to 27th Circuit Court.
Amber Rae Davis, 5855 W. 5th St., waived the preliminary exam in 78th District Court Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 3.
Davis is charged with a felony in connection to a deadly pedestrian crash on East Madison Road near North 126th Avenue in Crystal Township, Aug. 11.
Scott Parsons, 43, of Hart was struck and killed shortly after 2 a.m.
Davis faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted. Her bond was set at $25,000/cash/surety/10 percent, which she posted, according to her court file.
Parsons was struck by a 2010 Chrysler Town and Country van driven by Davis, who had failed to stop at the signed intersection of Madison Road and 126th Avenue, said Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast. He died at the scene.
Davis is scheduled to appear in circuit court Monday, Jan. 27, at 9 a.m.
