HART – The following were sentenced recently in 78th District Court:
– Amanda Kay Vriesman, 34, of 5328 S. 200th Ave., Hesperia, was found guilty Oct. 21 of welfare fraud $500 or less and was sentenced Nov. 4 to 90 days suspended jail with credit for one day served; two years probation; $10,816 in restitution; $600 in fines and costs; must submit to testing, searches and counseling as directed by probation; and no alcohol/drugs. Felony charges of welfare fraud over $500 and welfare fraud – failure to inform were dismissed.
– Gerard Adam Salazar, 35, of 209 S. Dryden St., Hart, was found guilty Nov. 4 of second-offense operating while intoxicated and was sentenced to nine days in jail with credit for one day served; six months probation; outpatient treatment; vehicle in offense must be immobilized/forfeited; must submit to testing, searches and counseling as directed by probation; no alcohol/drugs; and $1,715 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS).
– Christina Lynn Hawley, 36, of 3913 W. Skeels Rd., Montague, was found guilty Nov. 4 of operating while intoxicated and was sentenced to 90 days suspended jail with credit for one day served and $490 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.
– John Henry Smith, Jr., 67, of 1118 Parmington Ave., Hart, was found guilty Oct. 21 of operating while impaired and was sentenced Nov. 4 to 93 days suspended jail with credit for one day served; Alcohol Highway Safety Education (AHSE); and $1,055 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of operating while intoxicated was dismissed.
– Nicholas Matthew Ashbaugh, 28, of 6533 N. 72nd Ave., Hart, was found guilty Nov. 5 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to 90 days suspended jail with credit for one day served; AHSE; and $435 in fines and costs. Charges of operating while intoxicated and driving without a proper license endorsement were dismissed. Conviction reportable to SOS.
– Adam Robert Keller, 32, of 3241 N. 72nd Ave., Hart, was found guilty Nov. 5 of malicious destruction of trees/shrubs/crops/grass/turf and was sentenced to 93 days suspended jail with credit for one day served and $445 in fines and costs.
– David Josiah Oliphant, 45, of 6914 N. Oceana Dr., Hart, was found guilty Nov. 4 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to 90 days suspended jail with credit for one day served and $290 in fines and costs. One count of driving while license suspended (DWLS) was dismissed. Conviction reportable to SOS.
– James Richard Torrey, 53, of 2162 Simonelli Rd., Muskegon, was found guilty Nov. 4 of operating without insurance and was sentenced to one year suspended jail with credit for four days served and $400 in fines and costs. One count of unlawful license plates was dismissed.
– Max Noble South, 27, of 905 S. 144th Ave., Shelby, was found guilty Nov. 5 of third-degree retail fraud and was sentenced to 93 days suspended jail with credit for two days served and $430 in fines and costs.
– Caleb Wayne Matthews, 31 of 6520 W. Johnson, Shelby, was found guilty Nov. 5 of disturbing the peace and was sentenced to 90 days suspended jail with credit for one day served and $435 in fines and costs. One count of operating while intoxicated was dismissed. Conviction reportable to SOS.
– Nicholas Lee Hill, 31, of 1164 Wing Rd., Mount Pleasant, was found guilty Nov. 6 of DWLS and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served and $400 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of second-offense DWLS was dismissed.
– Anaise Delores Vasquez, 18, of 619 Woodlawn Court, Hart, was found guilty Nov. 6 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; 90 days discretionary jail; and $290 in fines and costs. Charges of operating without insurance and operating without a license were dismissed.
– David Matthew Welsh, 48, of 2860 S. 148th Ave., Hesperia, was found guilty Nov. 7 of transporting open intoxicants and was sentenced to $345 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.
– James David Brant, 62, of 203 B, Buys Rd., Muskegon, was found guilty Nov. 7 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to 90 days suspended jail and $340 in fines and costs. One count of violating a restricted license was dismissed.
– Justin Scott Gannon, 25, of 3886 N US 31, Scottville, was found guilty Nov. 8 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to 90 days suspended jail and $290 in fines and costs. One count of driving while license not valid was dismissed.
– Cole Lyle Conkle, 18, of 2100 E. M 20, Hesperia, was found guilty Nov. 8 of excessive deer bait and was sentenced to 30 days suspended jail and $300 in fines and costs. “License revocation left open to court to reconsider at DNR request,” court records state.
– Rebecca Lee Salazar, 33, of 5677 Oneida Trl., New Era, was found guilty Nov. 8 of driving while license not valid and was sentenced to 90 days suspended jail and $300 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.
– Angel Abdon Galindo-Piñon, was found guilty Nov. 12 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to $290 in fines and costs. One count of DWLS was dismissed.
– Alexander Dean Dumas, 29, of 13879 Wilderness Trl., Kaleva, was found guilty Nov. 12 of failure to display to a valid license and was sentenced to 90 days suspended jail with credit for one day served and $310 in fines and costs. One count of operating with an altered/forged/false license was dismissed. Conviction reportable to SOS.
– Jeffrey Daniel Harlan, 42, of 69 S. 2nd Ave., Lombard, Illinois, was found guilty Nov. 12 of trespassing and was sentenced to 30 days suspended jail with credit for one day served and $395 in fines and costs. One count of disorderly conduct – drunk was dismissed.
– Adam Prescott Stoddard, 36, of 4130 Scarlet Oak Dr., Saginaw, pleaded “no contest” Nov. 12 to no safety certificate and was sentenced to 90 days suspended jail and $200 in fines and costs. “Defendant can withdraw plea, and case to be dismissed when paid in full,” court records state.
– Duane David Warner, Jr., 27, of 1010 Fancher Rd., Mount Pleasant, was found guilty Nov. 12 of third-degree retail fraud and was sentenced to 93 days suspended jail with credit for 23 days served and a $75 fine.
– Emily June Shooltz, 18, of 5429 Golfwood Crt., SW, Wyoming, Michigan, was found guilty Nov. 12 of third-degree retail fraud and was sentenced to 93 days suspended jail with credit for one day served and $475 in fines and costs. One count of second-degree retail fraud was dismissed.
– Ryan Gonzalez, 23, of 3531 Jefferson Rd., Pentwater, was found guilty Nov. 7 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served and $290 in fines and costs. One count of DWLS was dismissed.
– Jason Alan Ennis, 33, of 5430 E. Arthur Rd., Hesperia, was found guilty Nov. 7 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to 90 days suspended jail with credit for one day served and $290 in fines and costs. One count of driving while license not valid was dismissed.
Dismissals
– David Bryan Cohen, 35, of 5921 W. Baseline Rd., Shelby, one felony count of unlawful driving away of an automobile was dismissed Nov. 4. “The victim does not intend to cooperate with the prosecution of the defendant,” court records state.
– David Carl Campbell, 27, of 3402 N. 120th Ave., one count of unlawful license plate dismissed Nov. 7.
– Angel Gabriel Rodriguez-Tapia, 28, of 2280 W. Baseline Rd., Shelby; one count of reckless driving dismissed Nov. 8.
– Rebecca Rose Simmons, 50, of 5649 W. Arthur Rd., New Era, one count of no license dismissed Nov. 7.
– James Michael Kersting, 24, of 7346 Loop Rd., Hesperia, one count of domestic violence dismissed Nov. 7.
– Mikayla Nichole Wilson-Gleason, 24, of 648 N. 136th Ave., Hart, one count of unlawful license plate dismissed Nov. 5.
– Annie Lopez, 71, of 7219 88th Ave., Rothbury, one count of malicious destruction of property less than $200 dismissed Nov. 5.
