HART – The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) has scheduled an approximate $1.3 million project on Polk Road to replace the culvert over Russell Creek next fall, according to John Richard of the MDOT Office of Communications.
“During construction, US 31 Business Route (Polk Road) will be closed between the US 31 northbound ramps and Comfort Drive,” Richard said. “Traffic will be detoured via US 31, Monroe Road and Old US 31 (Oceana Drive). Access will always be maintained to homes and businesses. Work is tentatively scheduled to occur in September and October of 2020.”
MDOT is is hosting a public meeting regarding the project Wednesday, Oct. 9, from 4-5:30 p.m. at the Hart Community Center located behind Hart City Hall.
MDOT officials will provide project details, scheduling and traffic information. “The public is invited to stop by any time during the meeting to learn more about the project and provide comments,” Richard said.
