PENTWATER – Pentwater’s Downtown Development Authority and a citizen group called PTW 2030 have teamed up to spearhead a project to upgrade and double the number of trees along both sides of several blocks of Hancock Street in the downtown business district.

Last week, old trees – three per block – were removed by Mike Russell Tree Service. On Monday, Sept. 30, Up North Garden Center began planting six trees per block – either Shademaster Honey Locust or Ambrose Acer Red Maple. As they mature, they will provide shade and serve as a beautiful canopy over businesses.
