Assaults, thefts top police activity.

The following is recent police activity in Oceana County:
Friday, Aug. 23, 2019:
– 11:12 a.m., (Oceana County Sheriff’s Office), larceny from a building, Wesco convenience store, South Michigan Avenue, Village of Rothbury. A bag of Skittles candy, a fountain drink and a bacon stick were stolen. A warrant is pending.
– 7:20 p.m., (Michigan State Police), assault, 8000 block of US 31, Pentwater Township. The case is under investigation.
Saturday, Aug. 24, 2019:
– 12:45 p.m., (OCSO), gas drive-off, Silver Pointe General Store, $70 in fuel was stolen, West Hazel Road, Golden Township.
– 6 p.m., (OCSO), larceny of prescription medication, West Michigan Street, Village of Walkerville.
– 6:40 p.m., (OCSO), sex offense, West Silver Lake Road, Golden Township. A family member allegedly touched a child inappropriately. The case is under investigation.
– 8:15 p.m., (MSP), hit-and-run crash, 2000 block of Whitetail Drive, Village of Rothbury. The case is under investigation.
Sunday, Aug. 25, 2019:
– 12:08 a.m., (OCSO), assault and battery, South State Street, City of Hart.
– 10:04 a.m., (OCSO), damage to property, South Elm Street, Village of New Era.
– 12:50 p.m., (OCSO), damage to property, a mailbox valued at $50 was smashed, South 136th Avenue, Otto Township.
– 9:36 p.m., (MSP), one-vehicle crash, no injuries, US 31 and Polk Road, Hart Township.
Monday, Aug. 26, 2019:
– 1:05 a.m., (MSP), assault, 8000 block of East Loop Road, Newfield Township.
– 12:10 p.m., (MSP), car/deer crash, M 20 and 192nd Avenue, Newfield Township.
– 3:28 p.m., (MSP), child abuse, 1000 block of North 100th Avenue, Hart Township. The case is under investigation.
– 7:58 p.m., (MSP), a 48-year-old Ravenna man was arrested for driving while license suspended (DWLS), 88th Avenue and Meadow Lane, Village of Rothbury.
– 9:50 p.m., (MSP), car/deer crash, Stony Lake Road and 48th Avenue, Benona Township.
