HART – Amber Davis, 28, of Mears, has been charged with a felony of operating while intoxicated causing death in connection to the fatal pedestrian crash on East Madison Road near North 126th Avenue in Crystal Township Sunday, Aug. 11,  according to Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast.

Scott Parsons, 43, of Hart was struck and killed while crossing the gravel section of East Madison Road shortly after 2 a.m.

Davis, who was arraigned Monday in 78th District Court, faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted. Her bond was set at $25,000/10 percent.

Parsons was struck by a 2010 Chrysler Town and Country van driven by Davis, who had failed to stop at the signed intersection of Madison Road and 126th Avenue, Mast said. He died at the scene.

Oceana County deputies, Walkerville Rescue and Life EMS responded to the scene.

Deputies attempted to render first aid to Parsons. When Life EMS arrived and further evaluated his condition, they found that he had passed away from the injuries he had suffered as a result of being struck, Mast said.

The Oceana County deputies were assisted by the Mason County Sheriff’s Traffic Reconstruction Unit.
