Teen injured when car flips, goes down embankment.
HART TOWNSHIP – A 17-year-old Shelby woman was transported by Life EMS to Mercy Health Partners Lakeshore Campus in Shelby after the car she was driving flipped over and went down an embankment on North 72nd Avenue near Duck Road Tuesday, Aug. 6, around 3 p.m., according to an Oceana County Sheriff’s Office accident report.
The woman told police that as she entered a curve, she lost control of the 2007 Chevrolet HHR in the gravel-covered asphalt.
“The vehicle then crossed the centerline, and the driver over-corrected and ran off the roadway to the right,” the report states. “The vehicle then overturned going down an embankment. The gravel in the roadway was due to heavy rainfall the previous evening washing it onto the road.”
