HART – The following were sentenced recently in 78th District Court:
– Steffon Jamal Jackson, 30, of 6795 1/2 E. Miller Rd., Buckley, was found guilty July 29 of domestic violence and was sentenced to 93 days suspended jail with credit for nine days served; six months probation; and $725 in fines and costs.
– Timothy David Wert, 38, of 5923 Stony Lake Rd., Shelby, pleaded “no contest” to assault and battery and was sentenced July 29 to 30 days in jail with credit for one day served; shall serve 93 days in jail for failure to pay fines and costs on time as part of a conditional sentence; and $450 in fines and costs.
– William Stephen Jackson, 45, of 40 N. 88th Ave., Shelby, was found guilty of second-offense operating while intoxicated and was sentenced July 30 to nine days in jail with credit for three days served; six months probation; outpatient treatment; shall serve one year in jail for failure to pay fines and costs on time as part of a conditional sentence; and $1,855 in fines and costs. Conviction is reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS).
– Patrick Michael Buchanan, 46, of 2552 S. 192nd Ave., Hesperia, was found guilty July 29 of operating while impaired and was sentenced to 93 days suspended jail with credit for one day served; Alcohol Highway Safety Education (AHSE); and $1,125 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of operating while intoxicated was dismissed.
– Priscilla Marie Gutierrez, 28, of 2880 W. Polk Rd., Hart, was found guilty July 29 of attempted fourth-degree fleeing a police officer and was sentenced to one year suspended jail and $485 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of fourth-degree fleeing a police officer was dismissed.
– Marcie Sue Tschupp, 43, of 10849 Bever Rd., Delton, Michigan, was found guilty July 24 of operating an ORV on a public road and was sentenced to 90 days suspended jail and $250 in fines and costs.
– Elise Rose Carmona, 20, of 225 State Park Rd., Bay City, Michigan, was found guilty July 24 of no safety certificate and was sentenced to 90 days suspended jail and $325 in fines and costs.
– William Aaron Judy, 41, of 1937 Elmwood Dr., Lennon, Michigan, was found guilty July 24 of operating an ORV on a public road and was sentenced to $250 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.
– Burt Joel Steinman, 42, of 16185 Wellwood Crt., Tipton, Michigan, was found guilty July 24 of operating an ORV on a public road and was sentenced to 90 days suspended jail and $250 in fines and costs.
– Billy Richard Huszar, 41, of 3591 S. Water Rd., New Era, was found guilty July 25 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to 90 days suspended jail and $340 in fines and costs.
– Juan Luis Perez, 43, of 609 E. Clock Rd., Hart, was found guilty July 25 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to 90 days suspended jail with credit for one day served and $340 in fines and costs. One count of operating without insurance was dismissed.
– Aaron Jay Miller, 20, of 4393 104th St., SW, Byron Center, was found guilty July 25 of operating an ORV on a suspended license and was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail with credit for two days served and $450 in fines and costs.
– Timothy Robert Grant, 48, of 47 Lilly St., SE, Grand Rapids, was found guilty July 24 of driving while license suspended (DWLS) and was sentenced to 93 days suspended jail with credit for one day served and $400 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.
– Richard Lee Rupright, 45, of 415 Spencer Rd., Mears, was found guilty July 26 of DWLS and was sentenced to 93 days suspended jail with credit for nine days served and $420 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.
– Christina Lee Tejada, 35, of 4488 W. Tyler Rd., Hart, was found guilty July 29 of operating an unregistered vehicle and was sentenced to $225 in fines and costs. “Contact the prosecutor’s office in 30 days to request a dismissal,” court records state.
– Brandon John Artlip, 34, of 1168 Calgary Dr., Muskegon, was found guilty July 29 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to $340 in fines and costs. One count of operating without insurance was dismissed.
Dismissals
– Gerardo Florentino Gutierrez, Jr., 31, of 339 Dewey St., Shelby, one count of operating without insurance was dismissed July 29.
– Nancy Kay Chase, no address or age listed, charges of DWLS, unlawful registration plate and operating without insurance were dismissed July 26. “Defendant is advanced in age and has several medical issues including dementia,” court records state. “The SOS suspended the defendant’s driving privileges due to her medical issues. It is not in the interest of justice to pursue a criminal conviction at this time.”
– Jennifer Marie Shull, no address or age listed, one count of domestic violence was dismissed July 26. “Victim is unwilling to cooperate with the prosecution of the defendant,” court records state.
– Stefanie Renee Roberts, no address or age listed, one count of improper plate was dismissed July 26. “Defendant registered her vehicle the day after she was cited for the offense,” court records state. “Defendant was unaware that her vehicle’s registration was not valid. Defendant does not have a criminal history.”
– Rebecca Lynn Cutler, 42, of 882 W. One Mile Rd., White Cloud, one count of operating without insurance was dismissed July 26.
– Danny R. Darling, no address or age listed, one count of third-degree retail fraud was dismissed July 25. “Defendant pleaded guilty to a felony in circuit court and agreed to pay restitution in this matter,” court records state. “It is not in the interests of justice to go forward with this matter.”
– Steven James Stone, 29, of 12799 Mercedes, Redford, Michigan, one count of operating without insurance was dismissed July 29.
