Obituary: Ruth Ann Kelley, 73, Hart.
Ruth Ann (Fradenburg) Kelley, 73, of Hart, went to be with her Lord and Savior June 20, 2019. She was born September 16, 1945, the daughter of Chalmer and Gertrude (Jehner) Fradenburg.
Ruth Ann was raised in Whitehall where she was a part of the Whitehall High School class of 1963. She was very active in her high school years, participating in Girls Glee Club, Pep Club, Robed Choir, FHA, GAA, Ski Club, Industrial Arts Club, Prom Committee, Girls Basketball and her Senior Play.
In 1974 Ruth Ann met and married the love of her life, Arthur Kelley. Right after they were married Ruth Ann moved to Hart, where she and Art raised their family and lived happily ever after. She was so proud to be a stay at home mom and homemaker. She always took great pride in her home. She was the biggest fan of her children and her grandson, Sean, as they were all stand out athletes. She was always in the stands cheering them on, and in life as well. She was a very supportive wife while she and Art owned and operated Kelley Machining, Inc. in Shelby.
Ruth Ann would tell you that her family was her greatest accomplishment in her life. She loved the simple things, reading, gardening, camping, quilting, cooking for her family, history, long rides with her husband and she loved her State of Michigan. She was an accomplished genealogist and a proud member of the Oceana County Historical Society of Hart for many years where she held the office of president for many terms and Native American History was her passion. She helped many people all over this country find family members. Ruth Ann also served as area director of Girl Scouts for many years. Under her watch it was the largest group of girls in many years.
She was a loving wife, devoted mother, doting grandmother and a loyal friend. She will be missed by all that knew her. Though life was sometimes a struggle for her, she would always push through because of her strong faith and love of life.
Ruth Ann is survived by her loving husband of 44 ½ years, Arthur Edward Kelley; their daughter, Rochelle Ann (Rick) Hartley of Scottville; son, Chad Arthur (Jeanie) Kelley of Hart; grandson and apple of her eye, Sean Patrick Kelley of Scottville; granddaughter, Kenlyn Heer of Green Bay, Wisc.; grandson, Brady Heer of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; sister, Nina (Ted) Osborne of Whitehall; brother, Daniel (Cheryl) Fradenburg of Cornville, Arizona; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
