Oklahoma man sentenced for possessing marijuana in jail.

HART – A 27-year-old Henryetta, Oklahoma man was sentenced to four months in jail Monday, May 13, in 27th Circuit Court for possessing marijuana in the Oceana County Jail.
“I know what I did was wrong,” said Ryan Anthony Munden, who pleaded guilty to a felony of prisoner possessing contraband.
Munden was serving a one-year jail term for a conviction of delivery/manufacture of methamphetamine. Co-defendant Joshua Freitas, 31, of Connecticut also pleaded guilty to contraband possession but has not been sentenced yet.
Freitas is serving six months in jail for a conviction of ecstasy/MDMA possession.
Both men were arrested at the Electric Forest Festival in Rothbury last summer for the drug charges.
“The jail staff found marijuana in the jail,” said Oceana County Prosecutor Joseph Bizon. “It was found in Munden’s possession. Munden and another inmate claimed it belonged to and was brought in by Josh Freitas. Freitas originally denied this and only admitted to possession.”
Judge Bradley G. Lambrix gave Munden credit for 85 days served.
The maximum penalty for prisoner in possession of contraband is five years.
