Pickup truck rear ends garbage truck.

NEWFIELD TOWNSHIP – A 32-year-old White Cloud man received a traffic ticket after rear-ending a garbage truck with his pickup truck Tuesday, Feb. 26, shortly after 11 a.m. on 192nd Avenue near Baker Road, according to an Oceana County Sheriff’s Office accident report.

No one was injured in the crash.

The driver of the 1997 Ford Ranger was cited for “unable to stop in an assured, cleared distance.”

The garbage truck, owned by Mark’s Waste Removal of New Era, was turning left onto Baker Road from 192nd Avenue when the Ranger, which was traveling south on 192nd Avenue, was unable to stop and slid into the garbage truck, the report states.

The garbage truck, which is a 2018 Hino, was driven by a 50-year-old New Era man. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
