Blizzard warning continues; lakeshore flood advisory in effect.

Smith & Eddy Insurance Weather.

A blizzard warning remains in effect until 7 a.m. Monday, Feb. 25. Conditions may include frequent whiteouts with total snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches. Winds could gust as high as 65 mph with wind chills below zero.

The lakeshore is also under a flood advisory until 7 a.m. Monday. Already higher than normal water may rise further this evening due to strong west winds. The combination of high water levels, a storm water level rise and large waves will increase the chance for lakeshore flooding. Beach erosion is expected with potential property damage. Water forced into the channels between the pier heads will create the risk of flooding in port towns. Some ice on Lake Michigan will become mobile creating a hazard where it piles up on beaches or crashes into piers.
