GRANT TOWNSHIP – A 28-year-old Montague man was arrested for a felony of assault with a dangerous weapon after allegedly hitting a 34-year-old Montague man in the neck with a steel pipe Sunday night, Feb. 10.

Jared Ray Miller, of 9441 Oak Lane, got into an argument with the other man, which escalated into Miller throwing a beer can at the man’s vehicle and then striking him with a pipe, according to the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office report.

The victim was treated at the scene by Life EMS but did not require transportation to the hospital, said Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast. The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. Sunday on Oak Lane.

Miller was lodged in the Oceana County Jail on $7,500/10 percent bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary exam in 78th District Court March 4 at 3 p.m.
