HART – A 26-year-old Mears woman is accused of wielding an air-soft pistol during a neighbor dispute, according to Oceana County Prosecutor Joseph Bizon.
Christine Ann Day, of 5830 W. 7th St., was arrested last December by the Michigan State Police for a felony of assault with a dangerous weapon. In her court file, it states Day used a “a pneumatic pistol designed to look real.”
A conviction of assault with a dangerous weapon is punishable by up to four years in prison.
Day appeared in 27th Circuit Court Monday, Feb. 11, with her attorney Terry Shaw for a pretrial hearing. Shaw told Judge Robert D. Springstead that he plans to file a motion in the case. The hearing was adjourned for two weeks so that Shaw can file the paperwork with the court.
Day’s next hearing is set for Feb. 25 at 9 a.m.
