LUDINGTON – The Ludington Area Center for the Arts (LACA) announces that Ruthann Eilers of New Era will be the next performer in the art center’s “An Intimate Evening with…” series Thursday evening, Feb. 14.
The monthly “An Intimate Evening with…” series features different artists, musicians, dancers, writers, etc. who perform their talent in an intimate gallery setting to an active audience.
During her performance, Eilers will tell a wide array of stories, some tongue in cheek and some serious, during her program entitled “Love & Other Costly Stuff.”
Eilers has deep roots in the Southern tradition of storytelling. Born in Michigan, she was surrounded by storytellers and poets from the time she can remember. Her family moved to Georgia in 1976, and it was there that her love for the art and culture of stories truly took root.
For 13 years, Eilers traveled the US to share her stories with hundreds of schools, churches, universities and festivals. She now lives in New Era, with her husband Tom, daughter Tessa, and Callie the “Wonder Dog.”
Eilers said she hopes that this evening will ignite your story and inspire you to tell it.
“An Intimate Evening with” will run from 7-9 p.m. in LACA’s Main Gallery. Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased at the LACA office by calling 231-845-2787 or at the door.
“An Intimate Evening with…” series continues on the second Thursday of each month. Accordion player Bob Zahrobsky will perform Thursday, March 14.
