SHELBY – Children had the opportunity to visit Santa Claus Saturday evening, Dec. 8, thanks to the efforts of several local organizations who brought the Jolly Ol’ Elf to town.
“We had a great turnout in downtown Shelby on Saturday to welcome Santa,” said Village Administrator Rob Widigan. “A big thanks to the Shelby Optimist Club, Shelby Rotary Club, Shelby Roars, Community Foundation for Oceana County and the Shelby Area Chamber of Commerce for helping organize the event and bring Santa to town. Books were provided by Read Early, Read Often.”
The yuletide event featured a tree lighting ceremony, music and hot cocoa.
