HART – The following were sentenced recently in 78th District Court:

– John Paul Redmond, 30, of 150 W. Main St., Hart, was found guilty Nov. 13 of fishing without a license and disturbing the peace and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year and $125 in fines and costs. One count of assault and battery was dismissed.

– Mary Ruth Dean, 61, of 4113 S. Ottawa Trail, Shelby, was found guilty Nov. 13 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year and $290 in fines and costs. One count of operating while intoxicated was dismissed.

– Tusskkon Duvall, 17, of 84 Ellis St., Shelby, was found guilty Nov. 19 of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year; no contact with the victim for one year; and $200 in fines and costs.

– Daniel Lee Nelson III, 28, of 729 Lake Dr., SE, Grand Rapids, was found guilty Nov. 13 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year and $290 in fines and costs. One count of driving while license suspended (DWLS) was dismissed.

– Cristal Gomez, 21, of 6464 N. 168th Ave., Walkerville, was found guilty Nov. 14 of operating without a license and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year and $300 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS). One count of operating without insurance was dismissed.

– Ismael Estrada-Hartado, 24, of 249 W. North St., Walkerville, was found guilty Nov. 14 of driving while license not valid and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year and $300 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

– Daniel Richard Torrey, 33, of 17335 Algoma Ave., NE, Cedar Springs, was found guilty of hunting deer without a license and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year and $385 in fines and costs. One count of taking a deer without a license was dismissed.

– Zachery Paul Hallack, 37, of 4212 W. Hayes Rd., Shelby, was found guilty Nov. 13 of disturbing the peace and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year and $325 in fines and costs. One count of disorderly – drunk was dismissed.

– Nicholas Allen Matthew Haney, 24, of 5 Lookout St., Glouster, Ohio, was found guilty Nov. 19 of operating while intoxicated and was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail for one year; outpatient treatment; and $1,205 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of transporting open intoxicants was dismissed.

– Alfredo Lopez, 73, of 7219 S. 88th Ave., Rothbury, was found guilty of operating while intoxicated and was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail for one year and $1,205 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of transporting open intoxicants was dismissed.

– Benjamin Richard Wadel, 27, of 3428 W. High Point Ridge Dr., Hart, was found guilty Nov. 19 of disturbing the peace and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year and $400 in fines and costs. One count of operating while intoxicated was dismissed.

– Joseph Francis Cronk, 29, of 301 N. 96th St., Grant, was found guilty Oct. 15 of operating while impaired and was sentenced Nov. 19 to 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must continue with AA; complete Impact Weekend or serve three weekends in jail; six months probation, which may be transferred to Newaygo County; and $1,780 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of second-offense operating while intoxicated was dismissed.

– Troy Robert Teichthesen, 56, of 7031 S. 50th, Montague, was found guilty Nov. 19 of uncased firearm in vehicle and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year and $335 in fines and costs.

– Angel Jacqueline Richards, 25, of 3677 S. Pere Marquette Hwy., Ludington, was found guilty Nov. 14 of driving while license not valid and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year and $300 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

– Kyle Thomas Alexander, 33, of 4939 E. Apple Ave., Muskegon, was found guilty Nov. 19 of DWLS and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year and $400 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

Dismissals

– Juan Sanchez, Jr., 22, of 217 S. Apple St., Hart, one count of marijuana possession was dismissed Nov. 19. “In response to recent election results for Prop. 18-1, it is likely no longer feasible to prosecute possession of marijuana cases involving a small amount of marijuana,” his court file states.

– Michael Ray Hale, 31, of 105 Woodlawn Ave., Hart, charges of marijuana possession and second-offense DWLS were dismissed Nov. 19. “Defendant pleaded guilty to a felony charge,” his court file states. “It is not in the interest for of justice to move forward with this misdemeanor matter.”

– Gustavo Gomez, 27, of 3241 N. 72nd Ave., Hart, one count of operating an unregistered vehicle was dismissed Nov. 19. “It is not in the interest of justice to move forward with this matter. Defendant was driving a company truck during the course of his employment and was unaware that the truck was unregistered.”

– Timothy Clayton Hutchinson, 26, of 1149 E. Sand Creek, Rothbury, one count of domestic violence was dismissed Oct. 31. “The victim in the matter contacted the prosecutor’s office to inform them that he is unwilling to cooperate with the prosecution of the defendant for the above charge,” his court file states.
