HART – The City of Hart Police Department recently received a $547 grant from the Hart Rotary Club for the purchase of a bleeding control training kit, which will be used for instructing local public safety and school staff in controlling major bleeding caused by injury.

Last month, Hart Public Schools received bleeding control kits for student or staff emergencies.

In October, HPD D/Sgt. Kevin Skipski reached out to the Hart Rotary Club for the donation, which was graciously approved by members. Skipski and Officer Brian Hintz will attend instructor training within the next month to certify them to train staff from local public safety agencies, Hart schools and local businesses that acquire the life-saving kits.

“This is a huge benefit for our community and our schools and allows first responders to effectively control major bleeding prior to EMS arrival,” said Hart Police Chief Juan Salazar. “The Hart Police Department would like to thank the Hart Rotary for assisting with this community project.”
