New Era man sentenced in strangulation case.

HART – A 23-year-old New Era man was sentenced to three months in jail for in 27th Circuit Court Monday, Oct. 29, for a conviction of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder/strangulation.
Joshua Samuel-Thomas Jenkins, of 2953 Tahoe Trail, pleaded “no contest” last September.
Jenkins choked the victim to point that she couldn’t breathe, previously stated Judge Bradley G. Lambrix.
Jenkins’ criminal history is minor, Oceana County Prosecutor Joseph Bizon said. The victim in the case has not been in contact with his office, he said.
Lambrix also sentenced Jenkins to two years probation and ordered that he have no contact with victim. Jenkins received credit for 82 days served in jail.
