David Markiewicz Memorial silent auction Saturday.

SHELBY – David Markiewicz’s memory lives on through generous contributions made in the late 2005 Shelby High School graduate’s name, and a silent auction this Saturday Sept. 22 will help raise funds for local school music programs.

The silent auction runs in conjunction with a golf scramble at the Oceana Golf Course, although you do not need to participate in the golf event to join in the auction.

The David P. Markiewicz Memorial Fund is having a silent auction from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with over 170 items, including a “Staycation” at the Hart House Bed And Breakfast; an overnight stay at the Channel Lane Inn in Pentwater; two weekend camping passes to the 2019 Electric Forest Festival; an assortment of Longaberger baskets; gift certificates; ceramic pieces; original paintings; Custom made fly rod; kitchen items; gift baskets of beauty products; quilts; a cooler; golf games; three Budweiser mirrors; motorcycle accessories; yard flags; a cheese box; wine, a beer stein from Germany; sunglasses and much more. There will also be a 50/50 raffle.

This is the event’s sixth year, and proceeds go to K-12 music programs for participating Oceana County schools, including Shelby, Hart, Pentwater, Walkerville, New Era Christian and Oceana Christian.
