Community Celebration Weekend in Shelby, New Era.

SHELBY – Shelby Roars, a community-based grassroots action group, is hosting its first-ever Pride Night this Friday, Sept. 14, from 4-7 p.m. before the Tigers vs. Ravenna home football game and its first-ever Farm to Table Pig Roast Sunday, Sept. 16, beginning at 4 p.m. in downtown Shelby.
Enjoy food and fun Friday in the high school parking next to the football stadium. There will be booths of local groups and businesses that work in conjunction with Shelby Public Schools.
On Saturday, Sept. 15, enjoy the New Era Fall Festival from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be arts and crafts, kids’ activities, live music and food vendors downtown.
Then on Sunday, take part in Shelby Roars’ Farm to Table Pig Roast beginning at 4 p.m. in downtown Shelby. The group has been planning this event since last December, and it will feature the “tastes and sounds of Oceana.”
Pre-sale tickets are $5 per person and $25 per family before the event. Tickets the day of the event are $10 per person and $35 per family. The event will offer kids’ activities, a delicious meal, live music by local musicians and local food vendors.
Shelby Roars aims to help and improve the community through projects, such as removing dead trees, clearing sidewalks, cleaning blighted areas and helping neighbors. For more information, follow Shelby Roars on Facebook and join in the efforts to improve the community.
