TEAM gets $1,000 boost from Shopko.
HART – The City of Hart Police Department was recently awarded the Shopko Foundation Communities Charitable Grant in the amount of $1,000.
The grant was written and submitted by D/Sgt. Kevin Skipski to assist with the Hart Police Department TEAM Program (Teaching, Educating and Mentoring) that is currently taught to fifth grade students at Hart Middle School.
“The TEAM program has been instructed to the Hart Middle School fifth graders for the past 11 years and has proven to be an effective program in providing safety classes to local youth,” said Hart Police Chief Juan Salazar.
“I am extremely proud of our local businesses and how they have reached out to support such a vital and important program,” said Salazar. “By working together, our community can only become stronger in the way of crime prevention and youth safety.”
