78th District Court sentencings.

HART — The following were sentenced recently in 78th District Court:

– Derek Scott Zuniga, 38, of 2105 Union St., Shelby, was found guilty Aug. 27 of attempted assaulting/resisting/obstructing police and was sentenced to 75 days in jail; one year discretionary jail; and $450 in fines in costs. He received credit for time served in a separate case, his court file states.

– Brandon Scott Thrailkill, 25, of 13 N. Courtland St., Hart, was found guilty July 23 of third-degree retail fraud and was sentenced Aug. 27 to 28 days in jail with credit for 28 days served; 93 days discretionary jail; six months probation; $138 restitution; and $700 in fines and costs.

– Jesus Junior Echavarria, 21, of 5537 Ronda Dr., Fremont, was found guilty Aug. 30 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year and $290 in fines and costs. One count of driving while license suspended (DWLS) was dismissed.

– Daniel Donald Byrnes, 42, of 558 Adams Ave., Muskegon, was found guilty Aug. 28 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to $400 in fines and costs. One count of transporting open intoxicants was dismissed.

– Marissa Yvette Miranda, 29, of 141 W. Tyler, Hart, was found guilty Aug. 29 of driving while license not valid and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail and $300 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS).

– Jose Manuel Viera, 52, of 129 Highland Ave., East Lansing, was found guilty Aug. 30 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year and $290 in fines and costs. One count of operating without security was dismissed.

– Pamela Jean Austin, 57, of 2392 Bard Rd., Muskegon, was found guilty Aug. 30 of DWLS and was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail for one year and $125 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of operating without security was dismissed.

– Dennis Edward Coulier-Buchner, 37, of 4541 E. Garfield Rd., Hesperia, was found guilty Aug. 29 of no group designator for a commercial vehicle and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail and $225 in fines and costs.

– Lydia Ann Moore, 56, of 518 Johnson St., Hart, was found guilty Aug. 29 of driving while license not valid and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail and $300 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

– Nicholas Russell Gundy, 19, of 8657 S. 56th Ave., Montague, was found guilty Aug. 30 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail and $290 in fines and costs. One count of operating an ORV without a license was dismissed.

– Stephen Francis Woltanski, 59, of 9798 Graham Rd., Plainwell, Michigan, was found guilty Aug. 30 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year and $290 in fines and costs.

– Sixto Riojas, 43, of 4432 Joyfield Rd., Arcadia, Michigan, was found guilty Aug. 29 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year and $290 in fines and costs.

– Ryan Michael Youngs, 23, of 108 Venice Circle, Rochester, New York, was found guilty Aug. 30 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year and $400 in fines and costs.

– Rachael Kayla Wright, 25, of 418 Union St., Hart, was found guilty Aug. 29 of driving while license not valid and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year and $300 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

– Margie Marie Castillo, 28, of 5497 E. Deer Rd., Walkerville, was found guilty Aug. 27 of disturbing the peace and was sentenced to three days in jail with credit for three days served; 93 days discretionary jail; and $400 in fines and costs. One count of harboring misdemeanants was dismissed.

– Jennifer Duty, 32, of 11715 US 31, Montague, was found guilty Aug. 27 of interfering with juvenile custody and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; 90 days discretionary jail; and $125 in fines and costs. “Defendant is to comply with all requirements of Child Protective Services,” court records state. “Otherwise, court will impose (jail) time.” One count of assault and battery was dismissed.

– Amanda Freeman, 36, of 5582 S. Oceana Dr., New Era, was found guilty Aug. 27 of disorderly person – jostling and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 90 days discretionary jail; and $225 in fines and costs. One count of domestic violence was dismissed.

– Jose Antonio Beltran-Santiago, 28, of 503 Adams Rd., Mulberry, Florida, was found guilty Aug. 27 of operating while impaired and was sentenced to five days in jail with credit for five days served; 90 days discretionary jail; Alcohol Highway Safety Education (AHSE); and $1,055 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of operating while intoxicated was dismissed.

– Dylan Lee Stewart, 24, of 4960 Wayne Rd., Pentwater, was found guilty Aug. 27 of operating a vehicle without insurance and was sentenced to one year discretionary jail and $400 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of DWLS was dismissed.

– Melinda Elaine Lopez, 38, of 2928 E. Madison Rd., Hart, was found guilty Aug. 21 of disturbing the peace and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail and $325 in fines and costs. One count of assault and battery was dismissed.

– Justin Lee Knight, 31, of 2725 E. Forrest St., Rothbury, was found guilty Aug. 21 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year and $290 in fines and costs. One count of second-offense DWLS was dismissed.

– Todd Allen Smith, 46, of 2132 N. 56th Ave., Mears, was found guilty Aug. 22 of driving while license not valid and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail and $300 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

– Jose David Juarez, 17, of 6207 S. 36th Ave., New Era, was found guilty Aug. 22 of driving while not valid and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail and $300 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

– Angel Jacquelyn Richards, 25, of 3677 S. Pere Marquette Hwy., Ludington, was found guilty Aug. 22 of driving while license not valid and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail and $300 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

– Brett Anthony Peoples, 26, of 336 N. 144th Ave., Hart, was found guilty Aug. 22 of DWLS and was sentenced to 93 days discretionary for one year and $125 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

– Taren Marie Puls, 33, of 9954 Walsh Rd., Montague, was found guilty Aug. 21 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year and $290 in fines and costs. Charges of DWLS and operating without insurance were dismissed.

– Chad William Hogan, 25, of 8008 Holton Rd., Holton, was found guilty Aug. 21 of DWLS and was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail and $400 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of second-offense DWLS was dismissed.

– Justin Michael Duell, 25 ,of 14787 Apple Dr., Fruitport, was found guilty Aug. 21 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year and $290 in fines and costs. One count of operating without insurance was dismissed.

– Justin Allen Beattie, 44, of 7224 W. 8th St., Fremont, was found guilty Aug. 21 of DWLS and was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail for one year and $400 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

Dismissals

– Wesley David Down, 23, of 5430 Cook Rd., Swartz Creek, Michigan, one count of OWI – marine was dismissed Aug. 24. “After receiving the lab results, this matter should be dismissed as the defendant’s BAC (blood alcohol content) results were below the legal limit,” his court file states.

– Angela Loren Jones, 29, of 173 Sessions Rd., Shelby, one count of OWI was dismissed Aug. 24. “After reviewing the lab results, this matter should be dismissed as the defendant’s BAC results were below the legal limit,” court records state.

– John Timothy Adams, 57, of 412 Hart St., Hart, one count of malicious destruction of property less than $200 was dismissed Aug. 27.
