HART — A 25-year-old Hesperia man faces up to 30 days in jail after pleading guilty in 27th Circuit Court Monday, Aug. 27, to a felony of accosting a child for immoral purposes.

Monte Lee Dupont, of 65 S. Winter St., was sending electronic messages to a 14-year-old girl, said Oceana County Prosecutor Joseph Bizon.

Sentencing guidelines in the case are 0-6 months, and Dupont’s jail time will be capped at 30 days, Bizon said.

“The victim expressed extreme reluctance to participate in his prosecution,” he said.

As part of his probation, Dupont will be required to have no contact with children 17 years of age and younger.

Sentencing is set for Oct. 22 at 9 a.m.
