GOLDEN TOWNSHIP — A 37-year-old man from the Detroit area was arrested after allegedly throwing a brick through the glass door of the Parkside Store in Silver Lake and stealing two pints of vodka, said Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast.

The Madison Heights man was arrested after going back to the store to buy more alcohol, Mast said.

Deputy Mark Schneider of the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office was reviewing surveillance video of the break-in and discovered that there was a man shopping in the store who matched the suspect’s description, Mast said. When confronted by Schneider, the man confessed to the crime. He was arrested on a felony charge of breaking and entering and was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.

The break-in was reported to police Wednesday, Aug. 22, and it occurred the previous night.

The man stole a pint of Absolute Citron and a pint of Smirnoff Green Apple, each valued at $11.49, Mast said.

The suspect has not yet been arraigned in 78th District Court.
