Boy, 11, apprehended by police for strangulation.


FERRY TOWNSHIP — An 11-year-old boy was apprehended by troopers from the Hart post of the Michigan State Police for assault by strangulation for allegedly strangling his sister Friday, July 20, shortly before 10 p.m. on 136th Avenue near Mill Pond County Park, according to Trooper Kelsey Case.

The victim was not injured, and the boy was released to a family member.

– 12:05 a.m., (MSP), 19-year-old Bitely man was arrested for unlawful license plate, Johnson and State streets, City of Hart.

– 6 p.m., (MSP), a 37-year-old Montague man was arrested for disorderly conduct, Forrest Street, Village of Rothbury.

Saturday, July 21, 2018:

– 9 p.m., (Oceana County Sheriff’s Office), a 22-year-old Mission Viejo, California man was arrested for disorderly conduct, Webster Road, Grant Township.

– 7:35 p.m., (OCSO), child abuse, turned over to the Oceana County Prosecutor’s Office and Child Protective Services for review, Northern Light Drive, Golden Township.

– 8:58 p.m., (OCSO), assault, Norman E. Kuhne Recreation Park soccer fields, Hart Township.

– 11:48 p.m., (MSP), a 32-year-old Shelby man was arrested for no insurance, Oceana Drive south of Shelby Road, Village of Shelby.
