GOLDEN TOWNSHIP — A 67-year-old Mears woman was injured following a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Harrison Road and 60th Avenue Wednesday, July 4.
The crash occurred about 2:16 p.m. when a 2006 Kia driven by Jordan Barefoot, 16, of Twin Lake, was struck by a 2005 Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by James Jacques, 70, of Mears after Barefoot failed to yield the right-of-way, according to a report from Oceana County Sheriff’s Office. In the report, Barefoot stated she was southbound on 60th Avenue stopped at the stop sign. She told deputies that she looked in both directions and then proceeded through the intersection, which is when her vehicle was struck by the eastbound pickup truck, which had the right-of-way.
Jacques’ passenger, Joyce Jacques, was transported by Oceana County EMS ambulance to Mercy Health Lakeshore Campus hospital.
