‘HeadCount’ to register voters at EF.
#EF2018
ROTHBURY — HeadCount will be registering voters and signing people up for local election alerts during the Electric Forest Festival, as the organization has done over the last several years.
“The future of America hangs in the balance, all dependent on the results of the 2018 midterms,” stated Aaron Ghitelman of HeadCount. “And with 4 million Americans turning 18 this year, voter registration and voter information has never been so important.
HeadCount is a national, non-partisan, non-profit organization that registers voters at concerts, music festivals and entertainment events.
“We work with artists and entertainers like Dave Matthews, Harry Styles, Billy Eichner, Phish, Bassnectar, Wilco, My Morning Jacket, String Cheese Incident, and Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead is on our board of directors. We also have 20,000 volunteers around the U.S. — mostly young people who love music and want to make a difference in this election. Since we started in 2004, we’ve registered close to 500,000 new voters.”
“Our co-founder and co-chair of our Board of Directors, Marc Brownstein of Disco Biscuits, Electron and Star Kitchen will be on site playing both weekends, Ghitelman said.
“We ran voter registration at 30 March For Our Lives events last month, and registered over 5,000 voters in one day, over the span of just a few hours,” he added.
HeadCount is slated to be set up in the Ranch Arena area of the festival.
