HART — A 63-year-old Hart man convicted of accosting children for immoral purposes was sentenced to one year in jail in 27th Circuit Court Monday, June 11.

Juan Camargo, of 2569 N. 64th Ave., has been in jail since last November and will finish his term in Kent County, said Oceana County Prosecutor Joseph Bizon. Camargo faces more serious charge of first-degree criminal sexual conduct in Kent County and is expected to be sent to prison for his sentence there, Bizon said.

The victim in the case agreed to the sentence, the prosecutor said.

Sentencing guidelines in the case are one to four years.

Judge Bradley G. Lambrix gave Camargo credit for 202 days served in jail and ordered five years probation. Camargo must also register as a sex offender.

Camargo pleaded guilty to the charge as well as fourth-offense habitual offender, according to court staff.
