GOLDEN TOWNSHIP — A 41-year-old Scottville man fled the crime scene in Oceana County after allegedly assaulting a woman in a domestic violence situation Tuesday morning, June 5, and was later apprehended by police in Mason County, according to Michigan State Police Trooper Kelsey Case of the Hart post.
The woman was found bleeding alongside the road, according to dispatch information, near the intersection of Taylor Road and 56th Avenue in Golden Township.
A BOL (be on the lookout) was put out for the suspect, Case said, and he was later apprehended by the Mason County Sheriff’s Office. He was transported back to Oceana County where he was lodged in jail.
The woman received non-life-threatening injuries, Case said.
The suspect was arrested for domestic violence and malicious destruction of property, she said. He allegedly broke out a vehicle window.
