SHELBY — Kendra Larios-Mendez of Hart was crowned the 2018 Asparagus Queen during the Queen’s Pageant/Fundraiser Saturday, June 2, at Shelby High School.
Rachel Bruinsma of New Era was named runner-up.
The other candidates were Taylor Grimm of Scottville, Renza Jacobs of New Era and Katelynn Sytsma of Hesperia.
The National Asparagus Festival is set for next weekend, June 8-10, in Hart. For more details, visit nationalasparagusfestival.org.
